About
I was born and raised in Redding, California. I’m passionate about providing social work services within a school setting and believe that schools have the capacity to be a community center for the youth and families they serve. I’m a member of the Mechoopda Indian tribe of Chico California and author of a children’s book titled The Very Lonely Boy.
Roles at Quest Forward Academy
Wellness Coordinator
Credentials
- BA in Youth Ministry from Simpson University in Redding, California
- Masters in Social Welfare from UC Berkeley
- People Personnel Services Credential
Before Quest Forward Academy
Prior to Quest Forward Academy, I attended UC Berkeley’s MSW program where I specialized in school-based social work. I spent two years interning in public school settings. Before attending grad school, I worked for Seneca Family of Agencies in Sonoma County. At Seneca I supervised a school-based program called Keeping Kids in School which provides case management services for school districts across Sonoma County.
Why I chose to work here / What I’m most looking forward to
I chose Quest Forward Academy because I am a fan of smaller school settings and the project-based learning model. I appreciate that Quest Forward Academy provides an alternative for students who don’t feel that the traditional public school setting is a good fit for them. I’m looking forward to becoming part of the Quest Forward Academy community and finding creative ways to help meet the needs of the students, staff, and families.
